MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

There’s something special about this season—especially the joy of driving from house to house, admiring the glow of Christmas lights that shine across our cities and warm our homes and trees.

But these lights are more than decoration. They remind us why we celebrate Christmas in the first place: candles and Christmas lights symbolize Jesus Christ, the Light of the World, shining into darkness

They also call us to reflect that same light to others, guiding hearts toward hope, love, and Christ Himself.

Jesus is the LIGHT OF THE WORLD!

At Christmas, whenever we see paintings or scenes of the manger, one element is always present—light. The star that led the wise men to Jesus shines brightly, and light seems to rise from the manger itself, illuminating the Christ child.

This is because Jesus is the Light. Christmas is the celebration of Light entering darkness —the arrival of the greatest Light of all: JESUS!

As Scripture declares, “That was the true Light, which gives light to every person coming into the world” (John 1:9).

Praise God!!! —The Light has come, and Jesus is the Light of the world.

The people said “Hallelujah”!

The light of Christ is real!  We see it reflected in the faces of one another and in the lives of those who have accepted His gospel. It shines through love, faith, and transformed hearts, reminding us that His light continues to live and move among us today and forever!

Jesus reminds us of this truth when He says, “I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness… for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world” (John 12:46-47). Accepting the gift of Christmas—Jesus Christ—is not about dwelling on how broken we’ve been or how dark a season may feel. It is about receiving His grace and forgiveness, freely given for every sin.

Christmas calls us to step into that light and allow it to shine through our lives. As we walk in His forgiveness, we become reflections of His love—shining brightly so others may also receive this gift.

Not judgment, but grace. Not condemnation, but mercy.

And through Him, the promise of eternal life.

The gift of Christmas does not end at the manger.

We shine because of Jesus. We do not create our own light—our light exists only because His light lives within us. When we truly believe in the Light, when we truly believe in Jesus, His presence begins to shine through our lives. As we allow our Savior to shine in our spirit, we are transformed and empowered to reflect Him to the world around us.

It is not our light, but His Light, working in and through us.

It continues in the way we walk, listen, follow, and shine His light in the world around us.

Never underestimate the power of that small light within you—because even if you are the only one burning, even if you feel alone in your faith, that light still has the power to pierce darkness and lead others toward hope.

As Jesus begins His Sermon on the Mount, He tells the people, “You are the light of the world… In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16)

Paul echoes this truth in Ephesians 5:8 when he writes, “For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light.”

When we walk in that light, our brightness illuminates and dispels the power of darkness.

All around us, many of us are stumbling as if in the black of night, searching for a flashlight.  They are seeking understanding, wisdom, and truth to illuminate their souls. As we delight ourselves in the Lord and fill our hearts and minds with His promises, His presence works through us. Through the power of a radiant faith, lives are transformed, and the light of Christ continues to shine into the world. You can use your light to pierce the darkness for someone else.  Jesus Gave You His Light! USE IT!

This gift of Light is for every soul—no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve carried. NO JUDGEMENT HERE!

Praise God for the changeless and constant Light of the Lord Jesus Christ. No matter how cold or dark your world may seem, it can be brought back to life when the glorious Light of the Son of God shines into your heart. Darkness cannot sustain life—there is no life without light. When Christ enters, hope is restored, chains are broken, and life begins again.

Jesus Himself declares this truth: “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 12:46).

Does your church have this light?  Is it merely symbolic, or is it real? Do we gather in these pews as a form, a tradition, a symbol—or do we gather as living vessels of God’s light?

We are called to follow Christ and Christ alone!

We were not put here to follow a personality behind a pulpit, a preacher, a trend, a search engine, or a YouTube channel. Our calling is not rooted in polished words or borrowed messages, nor in the shallow, lackluster ideas that sometimes pass for substance. We are not a cult of personalities. Words are easy; obedient action is hard.

Scripture calls us to discernment. We must ask ourselves honest questions: Is there an anointing here? Is the Light present? Is what is being spoken aligned with the heart and truth of Christ? Is the Holy Spirit here?

The church was never meant to be a place centered on darkness, but a refuge of light in a darkened world. All around us, people are already surrounded by brokenness, pain, depression, and sorrow. Shouldn’t the church be a true vessel of light—alive with hope, grace, and truth? People are not longing to hear, again and again, only what has been or who they used to be. They are searching for what can be, what God is doing now, and what life can become in Christ.

Where the Light of Christ truly dwells, there will be peace—not constant unease. There will be clarity—not confusion. There will be lessons that shape lives, not lectures that weigh people down. And above all, there will be love—not fear, not intimidation, not control.

These are the marks of the Light. This is how we recognize what is real.

There is Light at the end—and it is not a train. It is Life.

Yes, we acknowledge sin—but we proclaim something far greater. No one is forever stuck there. Through repentance and the acceptance of Jesus Christ, sin is not only forgiven, it is forgotten. By the grace of God, it is remembered no more. What once bound us no longer defines us, because the Light of Christ brings freedom, restoration, and new life.

And the people said "Hallelujah"

Let your light shine freely, not just in words, but in obedient action—because obedience is where faith is proven.

Yes, I love Christmas lights—on trees, on wreaths, along sidewalks, on fences, on houses, over gates and doors, and glowing in windows. They remind us that light illuminates everything it touches. Yet more than any decoration, I love the Light of the World, JESUS CHRIST.

I am grateful for the light of Jesus Christ shining in my heart, guiding my steps, giving life to my soul, and the promise of eternal life.

As this season closes and a new year begins, my prayer is that His light would burn brightly within us—through every word, every thought, and every action—no matter what the world around us may be doing or saying.

May we carry the gift of Christmas beyond the season, sharing Christ’s light every day.

May the new year be filled with His peace, His clarity, His joy, and His unfailing love. May His light lead you, sustain you, and shine through you—now and always.

Prayer

Lord,
Thank You for the wonderful gift of Christmas—our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank You for bringing Light into a dark world. You are the Light of the world, and because of You, we no longer have to walk in darkness.

Thank You for Your grace, Your forgiveness, and Your mercy that meet us exactly where we are. Teach us to follow You, to listen for Your voice, and to shine the love of Jesus wherever we go. Lord, shine Your Light in our hearts—not our light, but Yours. Burn away fear, confusion, judgment, and despair, and replace them with peace, clarity, love, and truth.

Help us to walk as children of the Light. Help us to listen faithfully, to follow obediently, and to reflect Your love to those around us who are weary, hurting, and searching for hope. Make Your church a true vessel of Light—extending grace, not condemnation; overflowing with truth, compassion, and mercy.

Anoint us by Your Spirit, Lord, to discern wisely, to live boldly, and to shine brightly in a dark world. Thank You for the unchanging, constant Light of Jesus Christ. No matter how cold or dark life may feel, Your Light brings life.

We praise You, Lord, and we commit to sharing the gift of Christmas every day of our lives.
In the mighty name of Jesus,
Amen.
